The fire is burning, whole rooms aglow
and the bitter cold wind blows outside
Christmas carolers sing from the distance in the snow
Children are laughing, adults smiling
The world is celebrating and everyone's so happy
except for me tonight
Because I miss you most at Christmas time
I can't get you
to get you off my mind
Every other season comes along, and I'm doing all right
But I do miss you
the most at Christmas time
I gaze out the window
This December night
at all of the twinkling lights
I'm alone in the darkness
remembering how we were during Christmas in the past
Everybody was so happy
All world is rejoicing and everyone is embracing
Except for you and I
In the springtime
Those memories will start to fade
My mind will say, "you're better to forget the past"
From the spring rain
Through the summer time
Till Autumn's leaves flying
I get by without you
But when the snow begins to fall, my heart will ache
Miss you again the most at Christmas time
